Our Ecolodge is located in the region of Krambitan in the Western part of Bali, set between the
sea and ricefields, that is still relatively off the beaten tracks of mass tourism.
The region is part of the Tabanan district, one of the eight former kingdoms of Bali. A princely family,
the younger branch of the family in Tabanan, still lives in Krambitan. The prince and princess
retain an honorary role and are still highly respected by the population.
The Ecolodge is in a small hamlet outside Krambitan, shaded by coconut trees, surrounded by banana groves, beautiful rice terraces and small woodlands.
"ALAS ARUM ECOLODGE" actually means “enchanted forest”, reflecting the magical touch of the sumptuous and vibrant Balinese nature, populated by spirits and protected by the Hindu gods of Bali.
Our four traditional “GLADAK” teak wood chalets, tailor-made by talented traditional Indonesian craftsmen, stand amidst a lush tropical garden, on each side of a small path leading to the main “JOGLO” pavilion, which overlooks our swimming-pool. Perfect for couples, families, or single travelers seeking peace and privacy, using natural material (wood and stone), all chalets comprise a small veranda for chilling out, and open air bathroom: Three of them with a double King Size bed and one with twin beds. The bedding may be rearranged on request and extra beds are also made available to families.Â
A very beautiful place, a work of love, with exceptional service, food, staff, and atmosphere. This place is serene, peaceful, beautiful, kind-hearted, and delightful. A gem!
An amazing place to relax, take a stroll in this quiet corner of Bali… The rooms are incredible Javanese houses with outdoor bathrooms, I love them. The pool is a great place to unwind.
We have stayed at this place twice. And never two without three, four, five, and more… In fact, it’s a big favorite not only for us but also for our guests. Staying in Bali can no longer be done without going there. The place is perfect, and the service is very attentive. The surroundings are truly amazing. Sadia and Agnes will guide you there, explain it to you along with its customs and traditions… they will passionately tell you about this country. Rooms 20/20, catering 20/20, service 20/20, hospitality 20/20, for me it’s perfect
I stayed at the ecolodge for two days and one night. I felt comfortable relaxing by the pool in the middle of the lush garden area and the rice fields planted around the place, especially during sunset. I also greatly appreciate the pro-local and eco-friendly tourism idea they promote, for example, using refillable glass bottles instead of plastic bottles or using local products in their breakfast menu. Most of the staff speak basic English and are happy to interact.
Agnès and Sadia welcomed us to this latest Javanese-style ecolodge. The bed was excellent. Breakfast was delicious, and so was dinner. We lacked nothing. The staff was very friendly and considerate. We were able to enjoy a bike tour in the area as well as a walk through the rice fields, all organized by Agnès. Highly recommended.
I stayed for 2 nights at this magnificent ecolodge. Agnès and Sadia, the French-Balinese couple, are very welcoming hosts. The spacious rooms are spread across 4 magnificent wooden chalets (Joglo). The bed was excellent, the outdoor bathroom, perfect cleanliness, and the breakfast and food were outstanding. What is also commendable is their effort to develop tourism that respects the environment and local traditions
Yes, Bali, I have loved you for almost 21 years now, and I never tire of discovering you… So, speaking of discoveries, I made one this summer by going to this ecolodge: ALAS ARUM, run by the Balinese-French couple Agnès and Sadia, who are deeply integrated into Sadia’s village, giving a different color to our visit. Indeed, Agnès’ deep knowledge of Balinese culture and her Balinese husband made our stay at this magical place an unforgettable moment.
An amazing lodge – a guesthouse with excellent service. Rooms – Food – cooking classes – cycling in the Balinese countryside and walking through the rice fields: top-notch! And the great relationships as well as rich cultural exchanges! Suksma (thank you).
Our best experience in Bali. Alas Arum Ecolodge is a peaceful little paradise away from the crowds… Agnes and Sadia are a real source of information, and the staff is attentive. The pool is a great added bonus for cooling down. We took a Balinese cooking class and visited the prince’s palace. They also offer table d’hĂ´tes, and it was amazing! Go there with your eyes closed if you want an authentic experience!
We started our Indonesian journey at Alas Arum Ecolodge. We immediately felt at home and forgot about jet lag. The staff couldn’t be friendlier. The food is great with a super chef. And Sadia, the owner, is an excellent host.
A touching welcome in a charming bungalow with all the comforts, high-quality beds, all set in a magnificent garden. The place also offers table d’hĂ´tes with delicious dishes. 4 bungalows accommodate a maximum of 8 people. A very pleasant experience.
A building consisting of 4 bungalows in a green setting. Very large rooms with showers facing the stars. An extremely warm welcome in French and excellent service. The dishes served at dinner are varied and delicious. I recommend it.
